FRED SCHIMMEL (1928- 2009)

Studied 1947, very briefly, at the Kunstnijverheidsschool, Amsterdam. (Now called the Rietvelt Academie) Emigrated to South Africa in 1948. Taught at the Polly Street Art Centre and started his own graphic Studio, with experimental prints for Walter Battis in 1952. In 1970 he started the graphic Club of South Africa.
